I have been happily married for 18 years and have four beautiful children. I enjoy coffee, making healthy meals for my family, homeschooling, raising chickens, our sweet dog Benji, and our little white farmhouse in the country.
I have been passionate about caring for mamas and babies since I was a little girl. My mom gave birth to my baby brother when I was 11 years old, this experience grew my passion. I have knowledge from my experience, promise to provide compassionate care, and create connection with the women I serve. Attending over 3,000 births has given me the experience and intuition to be fully present and aware during birth. I am an advocate and will provide space, support, and service to the entire family during pregnancy, throughout labor, and postpartum.
I worked in Maternal Health for 20 years. I started my career as a medical assistant in an OB/GYN's office. While in nursing school I worked as a surgical technician/delivery technician in labor and delivery at St. Thomas Rutherford. After graduating nursing school in 2004, I transitioned into working as a labor and delivery nurse. I spent the next 11 years working in labor and delivery, nursery, and postpartum. I taught childbirth classes at the hospital for two years. I have been trained in limited ultrasound and provided ultrasounds at our local Pregnancy Counseling Center. I also worked for The Newborn Nurse providing care for new parents and their babies.
