I did the sibling class with Kimberly and my 2-year-old daughter absolutely loved her and was instantly very interested in everything she said and showed her! She’s definitely a natural with children and it was also a great way to help prepare my daughter for being a big sister.

About Me

I have been happily married for 18 years and have four beautiful children. I enjoy coffee, making healthy meals for my family, homeschooling, raising chickens, our sweet dog Benji, and our little white farmhouse in the country.

I have been passionate about caring for mamas and babies since I was a little girl.  My mom gave birth to my baby brother when I was 11 years old, this experience grew my passion. I have knowledge from my experience, promise to provide compassionate care, and create connection with the women I serve. Attending over 3,000 births has given me the experience and intuition to be fully present and aware during birth. I am an advocate and will provide space, support, and service to the entire family during pregnancy, throughout labor, and postpartum.

My Background

I worked in Maternal Health for 20 years. I started my career as a medical assistant in an OB/GYN's office. While in nursing school I worked as a surgical technician/delivery technician in labor and delivery at St. Thomas Rutherford. After graduating nursing school in 2004, I transitioned into working as a labor and delivery nurse. I spent the next 11 years working in labor and delivery, nursery, and postpartum. I taught childbirth classes at the hospital for two years. I have been trained in limited ultrasound and provided ultrasounds at our local Pregnancy Counseling Center. I also worked for The Newborn Nurse providing care for new parents and their babies.

Kimberly attended my second homebirth. Her knowledge and extensive experience of the birthing process helped me deliver a 9lb baby with minimal recovery time-no tearing, no stitches! Her calming presence was a huge blessing!

We did a labor, postpartum, and newborn class with Kimberly to prepare for our first baby. Kimberly was very knowledgeable, organized, and helpful in getting us ready for this life changing event! We felt much more prepared to have a baby after her class and we are so glad we did it!

~Mary Kathryn

Kimberly was an essential part of my homebirth. I didn't have a doula with my first born and I came away from that birth with some feelings of guilt and shame. This time with my second, I came away feeling empowered and proud of myself! Kimberly played a huge roll in that!
